VLN3 2018, Frikadelli  WIns, Phoenix 2nd

VLN3 Impressions.
After a very long 11 Weeks of no VLN it was good to return to the Ring for an action packed Weekend of endurance Motorsport. As usual the pack of GT3 Racers was reduced but still 13 SP9 cars turned up. A Ferrari Pole Position and 1-2 in the first Laps was a beautiful sight. The Eifel bound Teams around WTM, Phoenix and Frikadelli were in front of the contenders of HTP, Falken and Walkenhorst at the Start.

On Friday we had a overcrowded Pitlane that i have never seen before, the spectators were in numbers all around the Track too, it seems it was not a long wait for the teams only and everybody at the Ring seemed to be in a good mood.

Of course some controversials also happened, mainly in the V4 Class where all the BMW 325i had to be inspected by the Scrutineers about their suspensions and Bushes.

The best story this weekend must have been the GT3 Debut of Vincent Kolb who teamed up with Frank Stippler in the Phoenix R8. Vincent has been racing for over 7 years now, started in the Youngtimer/ FHR Scene, raced Cars without any driving aids , went on to the smaller Porsche Cars, into Carreras, SP7, Cups and the like before signing with Phoenix this Spring for the Junior Programme. At 23, in combination with Frank Stippler who also comes from a Youngtimer/FHR background they managed to put pressure on the Frikadelli Pro- Car and finished a glorious 2nd Overall.
